How to get to Lefkada

From Preveza Airport (PVK)

From the Airport to Lefkada Town:

  • By Taxi: The fastest and most convenient option. Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. The trip to Lefkada town takes approximately 30–40 minutes and costs around €80.
  • By Rental Car: Several car rental agencies operate at Preveza Airport. Driving to Lefkada takes about 30–40 minutes via the main road and the floating bridge over the Drepanos Strait. This option is ideal if you plan to explore the island during your stay.
  • By Bus: Public KTEL buses connect Preveza Airport to Lefkada town via Preveza bus station. Check local schedules in advance as departures may be limited. The journey typically lasts 1–1.5 hours, depending on connections.)

From Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”

Step 1: Reach the main bus terminal (KTEL Lefkada) from the airport:

  • By Bus: Take the X93 bus from the airport to KTEL Kifisou Bus Station (~40 min, Ticket: €5.50).
  • By Metro and Bus: Take Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) from the airport to Eleonas Station, then Bus 052 to KTEL Kifisou (~1h 10 min, Ticket: €9).
  • By Taxi: Direct taxi to KTEL Kifisou (~35 min, Cost: €45).

Step 2: From KTEL Kifisou, take a bus to Lefkada town. Buses depart regularly throughout the day. The trip lasts approximately 5–6 hours, and the fare is €37.

Other option: Renting a car allows for a flexible drive from Athens Airport to Lefkada in approximately 4–4.5 hours.

From Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia”

Step 1.Take Bus 01X from Thessaloniki Airport to KTEL Makedonia (~35 min, Ticket: €2) or a taxi (~30 min, Cost: €30).

Step 2. From KTEL Makedonia, take a bus to Lefkada.
(Duration: ~5-5.5 hours, Ticket: €39).

Other option: Renting a car allows a direct drive from Thessaloniki Airport to Lefkada in approximately 4–4.5 hours.
